Eli Whitney was one of the very most influential industrialists and one of the biggest pioneers of the Industrial Revolution in early on American history. He resided in the south for just a few years, yet, during this time period, he created an invention that could revolutionize the agricultural market. The creation of the cotton gin, an equipment that could pick the seeds out of cotton, breathed new lease of life in to the dying southern economy. Whitney was motivated to personal bankruptcy after his invention s patent was stolen. This didn't deter him even if. He moved back again to the north where, beneath the patronage of america government, he altered the face of manufacturing along with his factory that mass-produced guns. This fresh manufacturing methodology introduced the revolutionary idea of interchangeable parts.

Whitney's was born in Westborough, Massachusetts on December 8, 1765. He was raised by his father and mother, Eli, Sr. and Elizabeth. Disaster struck when his mom became terribly ill following the birth of her 4th child. She passed away in 1777. Whitney, Jr., simply twelve years old at that time, was the eldest of the kids and sensed bound to look after his younger siblings.
